Golf Simulator Practice

Use simulator time for measurable distance windows, dispersion, club gapping and decision practice — without turning every session into swing analysis.

SimulatorBest for: Distance & dispersion30–60 min typicalFull bag available

What this location is good for

  • Carry distance checks and gapping
  • Dispersion windows for each club
  • Target practice with structured feedback
  • Approach shot direction consistency
  • Driver playable window tracking
  • Winter practice when outdoor options are limited

What it is not good for

  • Realistic lies and uneven ground
  • Wind and ground interaction
  • Short-game rollout and chip control
  • Putting realism
  • Over-focusing on launch monitor numbers and swing mechanics

A note on simulator numbers: Carry distances and dispersion data from a simulator are useful reference points. They are not swing diagnoses. Use them to understand your usable windows — not to over-analyse ball-flight mechanics.

Session blocks

6 blocks
  1. 1.Warm-Up + Calibration

Hit easy wedges and mid-irons to settle into the simulator feedback. Note whether your carry numbers match your expectations — adjust your aim if needed.

    Warm-up
  2. 2.Carry Window Check

Work through your irons from 7-iron to pitching wedge. For each club, hit five shots and note the carry range — your minimum to maximum. This is your usable window.

  3. 3.Approach Dispersion

Pick a target distance and club. Hit ten balls. Note how many land within 15 yards of your target. Focus on direction consistency, not just carry.

  4. 4.Driver Playable Window

Hit driver to a fairway width of 30 yards. Count how many shots stay inside the window. Record your percentage — aim to beat it next session.

  5. 5.Random Target Finish

Pick a random club and a random distance target. One shot. Repeat three times. No rehearsal, commit to each shot.

  6. 6.Reflection

Note your most consistent iron and your widest dispersion. Record one carry number you want to verify on the course.

How ParPlanr adapts this

ParPlanr is being built to adapt simulator sessions based on your real practice context:

Location

Selecting the simulator focuses the session on full-swing work only. Short-game and putting blocks are removed unless a separate green is available.

Available time

A 30-minute simulator session concentrates on one key area — usually carry windows or dispersion. A 60-minute session can cover gapping, approach work, and driver.

Goal

If you are preparing for a round, ParPlanr adjusts the focus to approach accuracy and driver reliability. If you are building a club gapping reference, the session covers your full iron set.

Recent practice

If you have done three consecutive range sessions, ParPlanr can suggest using the simulator for structured distance work to complement your outdoor practice.
